The standout feature of the bus is the ability to charge via a pantograph - a device which usually delivers power from the top of the vehicle - an example can be seen in Metro trains across the country) as well as plug-in charger. The battery system is liquid-cooled and mounted on roof.

Arya said that the manufacturing of the bus will happen in company’s Haryana and UP factories. It could hit the road in the second half of this year.

「We are working with multiple customers and many smart cities,」 Arya said.

The bus has been produced in collaboration with European bus manufacturer, Solaris.

Design, engineering and production of the bus has happened at JBM’s Uttar Pradesh manufacturing facility. The technology, however, has been provided by Solaris. The Li-ion batteries installed in the bus are also manufactured out of India.

The company, with their Citylife diesel and CNG buses ventured into the public transport segment. JBM has supplied 105 such buses to the Noida Metro Rail Corporation.
